Clean, Clean, Clean
Have carpets shampooed, clean windows, or possibly consider irking a cleaning service, recognizing that it is a justified moving expense.
Kitchens & Baths
Clear off countertops...declutter, declutter, declutter! These rooms should be gleaming.
Storage Areas
Like the garage, its time has come to be liberated. Remember you can do it now or you can do it several months from now, in the process of moving when there is no advantage. Do it now.
Repairs
Identify and repair dripping faucets, toilets, sticking or creaking doors, etc.
Closets
Remove out-of-season clothing. Organize your clothing and shoes on the floor. Remove clutter.
Furniture
The less furniture, the larger a room appears (This does not mean leave the room empty).
Mechanicals
Inspect furnace, a/c, hot water heater, electrical, etc - if needed contact one of my preferred contractors: Recommended by Rhonda Contractor List
Exterior of Home
A fresh coat of paint goes a long way. Touch up any peeling paint. Repair or replace anything that looks loose or broken.
The Yard
Turn and weed the beds, trim trees and shrubs. Spread fresh mulch, mend fence, pick up litter. Keep grass mowed or consider a lawn service.
Garage
Discard virtually everything in that hasn't been used for a year.
Front Entry
It's the first thing a buyer sees. It is worth the extra effort to spruce it up by painting or cleaning. Also, make sure doorbell works.
